Broken Hearts

Robbed of your innocence,
You cry the night away
You love and you trusted,
And all they did – was betray.

A sea of tears
And tide of sorrow
In your heart,
there is no tomorrow

Where is my Prince Charming?
Where is my Shining Knight?
You search and search with all your might,
But why are the good men not in sight?

In your moment of grief,
desperately you seek relief.
Friends come and cheer you
and tell you you’ll be okay.
But no one tells you
how now to find your way.

Ruined dreams scattered in parts,
How do you mend broken hearts?
When all the dreams you had
And all the hopes you dared
Have all been crushed
And nothing is spared.

Maybe someday someone will come,
Mend your heart that has been ripped apart
And make the dark clouds all depart
In time you will learn
How to judge and discern
the ones full of deceit
From the ones you should keep.
Worry not… as they always say,
Life still has a part for you to play.

With hope for the day,
I offer you this toast
Of riches and glory we cannot boast
Heartbreak and worry
we have more than most.
But family we have
and friends we keep.
Where the blood is thick
and bonds run deep
We know we don’t always have to weep.

To broken hearts...
